Gene Fulton is a legend of drag racing and an accomplished engine builder. Fulton is the only sportsman racer to be enshrined in the Legends of Thunder Valley. He became interested in running the period correct cars in 1967 with a volatile group of racers called the South East Gassers. It has been almost 30 years since he sat behind the wheel of one this iconic race cars and over a BBQ lunch his excitement returned and right then and there he decided to begin the process of building a Gasser once again. He plans on running a series formed by a long time friend and fellow racer Quain Scott. The series is a hybrid between documentary and a reality show which will promise to entertain.
Edelbrock is proud to be apart of this historic comeback. Fulton, and his ’41 Willy’s, will be sporting a Victor Ram 23 degree intake manifold #7070 with a Victor Ram- 2 Standard Flange, Sideways Top #7073. The cast intake was cut into 13 pieces in a process called Franken-fultoning in order to fit the “8” Edelbrock carburetors #1152 atop the 400 cu. in. small block. To top it off they dressed the engine with a set of Classic Series Valve Covers #41409.

In this episode of Gene Fulton Returns, our story picks up with the story of Rudy Knight, longtime Fulton friend who makes a long journey to Pennsylvania to pick up the last piece of the puzzle in finishing the Bad Attitude ’41 Willys. With the car finished, the focus then turns toward the legality of the car with the spirit of the rules in mind.
