Lights Out 17 at SGMP: Radial Domination

As we eluded to in our last article, the world’s quickest small-tire machines converged in Adel, Georgia, February 19–22 for Lights Out 17, presented by Duck X Productions at South Georgia Motorsports Park. As the second stop on the 2026 Radial Outlaw Racing Series (RORS) calendar, the event delivered record-shattering passes, fierce elimination battles, and a slate of deserving champions crowned.

Lights Out Weather & Weekend Rundown

Despite early challenges from Mother Nature with strong winds all weekend and rain shortening parts of it, drivers and crews powered through testing, qualifying, and eliminations. Cold, dense air paired with intense competition set the stage for some historic performance numbers on SGMP’s renowned concrete.

Radial vs. The World: Quartuccio’s Record Run

Radial vs. The World (RvW) — the crown jewel class at Lights Out — saw Ken Quartuccio and his Camaro dominate once again. After earning top qualifying honors with a blistering 3.49 ET, Quartuccio unleashed a new radial tire world-record pass of 3.436 seconds en route to the final round — one of the quickest side-by-side radial races in history. In the final, a no-show from opponent Huston Dial handed Quartuccio the win and the $30,000 payday.

Pro 275: Barnett’s Record-Setting Victory

In the ultra–competitive Pro 275 ranks, Lyle Barnett piloted the Mustang known as Salvage Title to a powerful win. Barnett crushed the competition with a Pro 275 record 3.600 ET, edging Eddie Harrison’s 3.648 in a tight final round showdown. The win put $20,000 in Barnett’s wallet.

Limited Drag Radial: LaSala Takes the Crown

The Limited Drag Radial (LDR) class was stacked all weekend. Tommy Youmans lit up the sheets early with a historic 3.793 qualifying pass, becoming the first driver in LDR history to dip under the 3.8 barrier. But eliminations belonged to Brett LaSala in Snot Rocket, who cruised through the ladder with consistency and power, defeating former champ Shane Stack for the victory and clocking his own 3.80 personal best in the process.

X275 & Ultra Street: Winning Performances

In X275, Eric LaFerriere drove his Toyota-powered machine to a decisive win over Davey Hull in the final. The import vs. domestic duel thrilled the crowd with LaFerriere’s 4.069 ET besting Hull’s 4.132. Over in Ultra Street, Jessie Coulter delivered clutch performances, including a close final round victory with a 4.466 over Rodney Ragan’s 4.471.
