It’s that time of year again! As the summer heat subsides and leaves begin their transformation, most people start thinking of Fall, football, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. But if you are a car person — especially a builder or parts manufacturer — all you are thinking about is getting to Las Vegas for the SEMA Show. Everyone in the automotive world is thrashing right now. Indeed, the “SEMA Crunch” is in full effect!

That includes us here at EG Nation (in case you haven’t noticed, we’ve been a little quiet on posts and email newsletters lately). We’ve been busy writing press releases, product descriptions, booth material, and all the other not-so-fun parts of the job for new products. The cool part is that we see the new Edelbrock Group products before everyone else (except the engineers and R&D folks). There is nothing quite like holding a unique design and thinking of all the cool cars that the part will eventually land on.

The Edelbrock Group will have 28 new products at the SEMA Show this year. The bonus for all of you EG Nation readers is that we get to tell you about them before anyone else does — straight from the source if you will. Some new products are still in the development or early testing phases, so they won’t be available for a while. However, quite a few will be stocked and ready to ship as soon as the show closes. We’ll also admit that some new products are not necessarily making their debut at the SEMA Show; you may have seen them introduced last year or earlier this year. We’ll give you a sneak peek of some exciting parts you’ll see soon from the Edelbrock Group Power Brands, sorted by brand.

The Edelbrock Group booth (#22443) is set up and ready for Day 1 of the SEMA Show 2023!

Edelbrock

Edelbrock has 12 new products for 2024. Again, some have been introduced previously, while others are super fresh. Let’s look at a few of the standout new products coming to market soon.

Edelbrock is well-known for its aluminum cylinder heads, manufactured in the Edelbrock Foundry in San Jacinto, California. All Edelbrock cylinder heads feature patented Clean Cast Technology™, a revolutionary process that eliminates casting flaws and promotes a smoother internal surface finish for improved air and coolant flow. These benefits provide more power and increased cooling ability right out of the box. Engineers are constantly working on new applications. Here are three new exciting cylinder heads they have been working on.

Performer RPM 6-Bolt Cylinder Heads for Gen III Hemi Engines

There’s no doubt that Dodge’s third-generation Hemi is hot, whether in a street or race vehicle. The new Performer RPM 6-bolt heads were designed as premium replacement heads for any high-performance application to let those hemispherical chambers breathe better. Six bolts per cylinder provide an increased clamping force over stock. They are compatible with O.E.M. 15-bolt or aftermarket 23-bolt engine blocks. The intake and exhaust ports match the O.E.M. location for the 6.4-liter engine but are CNC-optimized for increased airflow. The 5.7 Eagle, 6.1, and 6.2 intake manifolds will fit without issue.

These heads come fully assembled with COMP Cams valve train components, including Beehive valve springs, Chromoly steel retainers, heavy-duty stainless-steel valves, and top-quality valve seals. Those Beehive springs are ideal for many popular mild to hot camshaft grinds, allowing up to .675 inches of lift. An integrated truss design provides extra strength, helping to stabilize valve train movement at high RPM. The Performer RPM 6-Bolt is for someone looking for an easy bolt-on upgrade already set up with tested valve train components.

Victor CNC 6-Bolt Cylinder Heads for Gen III Hemi Engines

The new Victor CNC 6-Bolt cylinder heads are the next step up for those looking for even better-flowing heads or for someone building an engine to their own specifications. Like the Performer RPM, these heads have a greater clamping load and are compatible with O.E.M. 15-bolt or aftermarket 23-bolt engine blocks. Unlike the Performer, the Victor comes “bare” yet fully machined with CNC-ported combustion chambers and intake and exhaust runners. Premium manganese bronze valve guides wear longer and hold precise tolerances on valve seat concentricity, allowing the valves to seal securely and eliminating leak-down while increasing cylinder pressures. Whether keeping your engine naturally aspirated or forced induction, Edelbrock offers parts kits that complement these heads using premium COMP Cams components. With a maximum lift of .700 inches, it can handle big cams.

Victor CNC 12-Degree Cylinder Heads for GM Big Block Chevy Engines

For Chevy fans, Edlebrock introduces the new “Big Vic” CNC-12-degree race heads, specifically designed for maximum competition naturally, aspirated, nitrous injected, and boosted applications. These heads are made of premium aluminum alloy that undergoes hot isostatic pressing (HIP) for a more stable and dense grain structure. Large CNC oval ports, specifically designed to maintain a high airspeed for maximum cylinder fill during valve openings, generate a high torque curve throughout the engine’s operating range.

Machined to the tightest tolerances, these heads feature a 12-degree valve angle, copper valve seats, and fully CNC-machined ports to increase overall airflow capability. They also have premium manganese bronze valve guides like the Victor above. The conical chamber design, 2.500 x 1.800-inch valve job, raised and spread intake ports, and raised exhaust ports are all done to increase the airflow with a port volume of 498cc. Hardcore racers will love these heads!

VRS-4150 Race and Performance Carburetors

Edelbrock introduced the 650cfm VRS-4150 Carburetor as a new product during the SEMA Show 2022. It has had a terrific response, and Edelbrock has responded by introducing the 750cfm model this year. Street-friendly and race-ready, the VRS is a revolutionary new take on the tried-and-true modular carburetor, offering a ton of adjustability and user-friendly customizations.

With four fuel-circuit billet metering blocks, you can precisely tune any setup. Larger capacity bowls with baffling to control slosh ensure you don’t run out of fuel. These carbs will mount to any 4150 or 4500-style intake manifold. You also don’t have to throw away all those old parts you’ve been using — the VRS series carbs utilize industry-standard jets, bleeds, power valves, squirters, etc. The VRS takes all the functions of high-end race carbs and puts it into one solid package at a much lower price point for those of us without deep wallets.

Twin-Force Turbocharger Kits for 2017-2022 Ford F150 and Raptor Trucks with 3.5L EcoBoost Engines

If you’ve driven the latest iterations of the V6 Ford F150 or Raptor, you know they are pretty peppy from the factory, especially the 3.5-liter 395 HP and 495 HP versions. However, they could always use help if you want a little more performance. Edelbrock introduced the Twin-Force turbo kits last year, but they now cover from 2017-2022 models — and they are 50-state-legal (when using the Edelbrock tune) for both versions.

The beauty of the kits is they are designed modularly into three stages to fit your performance needs or tight budgets. The Stage 1 kit is good for an extra 100 RWHP just by adding a larger capacity intercooler, high-flow turbo piping, and an air filter. It comes with the tune and calibration. Stage 2 adds the 60mm Garrett turbos into the mix for an additional 30-plus horsepower. You can get it with or without the tuner, but only the tuner version is 50-state compliant. Stage 3 will give you the maximum bang for the buck, putting down 164 RWHP! It comes with everything from the previous stages but adds an electronic fuel pump booster and a Stage 3 calibration to unlock the full power potential of the system. The beauty of the Twin-Force stage system is its modularity. If you don’t know how far you want to go, you can start at Stage 1 now and then utilize the upgrade kits to progress to the next stages as your budget allows.

XTS 102MM Intake Manifold for Ford 7.3L Godzilla

Ever since its announcement, people started salivating about swapping a 7.3-liter Godzilla into their hot rod. However, it does come with some challenges. The biggest of those is underhood clearance. The Edelbrock XTS 102mm sheet-metal intake takes care of that problem with a horizontal throttle-body mount. It also looks good while doing it!

The lightweight manifold features billet flanges to seal securely to the heads and is finished in a durable, attractive black powder coat finish. The shorter-than-stock tapered runners are tuned for high-RPM gains. All of the common vacuum take-off ports are located on the rear, and it comes with mounting and routing hardware. Now you don’t have to worry about what to do with that air filter that points toward the sky, Edelbrock took care of that for you.

COMP Cams

COMP Cams has four new products for the SEMA Show this year, but they cover many different applications for the Big Three and beyond. The company is always on the cutting edge of development for all your valve train needs. Whether it is an all-new take on an old design or new, more durable materials, COMP is always innovating. Here are a few standouts for this year.

Godzilla Cams And Accessories

COMP jumped right on the Godzilla when it was introduced, but instead of taming it, they made it wilder with three new ‘stage” camshafts for the 7.3-liter powerhouse. Each cam offers different performance characteristics on where it makes the power but all will see gains in either horsepower, torque, or both!

Stage 1 still uses the full phaser sweep, giving you excellent mileage while optimizing performance. You can expect no compromise in durability with this cam, which requires no springs, adjustment to factory phasing, or ignition timing (although minimal ECU tuning will pay dividends). Testing with an optimized tune saw Stage 1 gain 60 HP and 15 LB-Ft over the stock offering.

Stage 2 is a fun one, giving the Godzilla maximum torque in the low- to mid-range for heavy vehicles and towing. No springs are needed with this cam, although it does require a phaser limiter (PN 5473). Testing with the phaser limiter netted 75-plus horsepower more than stock.

Stage 3 is the best all-around performer for crate engine swaps into lighter cars or trucks. It makes awesome power from 3,000 to 6,500 RPM but requires the conical valve spring kit (PN 7230GCS-KIT), and a phaser limiter (PN 5473) or lockout kit (PN 5474). Running the Godzilla with this setup using the limiter saw an additional 100 HP and 25 LB-FT of torque over the factory. Also, don’t forget the Cam Phaser Socket Tool (PN 5475); it will simplify your life when removing the phaser!

FAST

FAST has been an industry leader in aftermarket electronic fuel injection since its inception. However, it is so much more than EFI. FAST stands for Fuel, Air, Spark, Technology, and its engineers always look for ways to improve performance and usability. The company brings two new products to the SEMA Show this year that will make LS engine fans very happy.

LSXHR Intercooler for Hi-Ram Style Manifolds

Cooler air equals greater horsepower. We all know that. Intercoolers are a great way to cool the air charge, especially if you are using forced induction. The hard part is finding space under the hood for everything that comes with running an intercooler. The engineers at FAST have come up with a terrific solution to cool the air charge in a compact form factor — the LSXHR Intercooler for Hi-Ram style manifolds, such as the LSXHR 103mm composite intake manifold.

This air-to-water intercooler conveniently fits between the upper and lower intake manifold, simplifying the installation while saving space, time, and cost. Placing the intercooler between the manifolds minimizes the fight for space with turbos or centrifugal superchargers under the hood. The stout welded-billet construction finished in black powder coating can take just about anything you can throw at it. Both the air and water sections are sealed with O-rings to provide further durability, and massive -16AN inlets/outlets keep the cold water flowing. Testing on a 1,350 HP turbocharged LSX application with 20 pounds of boost showed a 198-degree drop in temperature and less than 1 psi loss across the intercooler. Now that is performance!

Big Mouth 102MM Electronic Throttle Body

If you have a drive-by-wire LS engine, your choices of throttle bodies have been limited to small diameters. But now, FAST has developed the Big Mouth 102mm Electronic Throttle Body designed to outperform anything else on the market. This robust electronic throttle body uses upgraded components and a 102mm opening to provide a huge airflow increase over factory throttle bodies while maintaining stock idle characteristics.

The Big Mouth 102mm is designed to be plug-and-play for most stock Gen IV LS electronic control modules, including (but not limited to) L76, L77, L99, LS3, or LS7. It works well with an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4+ or any aftermarket EFI system designed to control a GM LS-style electronic throttle body. The robust throttle blade is capable of handling boosted applications. A high-performance, high-torque motor provides a quicker response over competitors’ weaker stock motors, while a dual return spring and a non-contact throttle-position sensor increase reliability. Finished in a stylish black anodized finish, it provides an excellent aesthetic under any hood.

TCI Automotive

TCI has some exciting new products for both Dodge Gen III and small-block Ford owners that are sure to be a hit in 2024. TCI engineers have been busy working on torque converters, transmissions, and new bellhousings that offer greater power and more mounting options ti give customers more choices. Here are two new products that people are already talking about that are debuting at SEMA 2024.

8HP70 Torque Converter for Dodge Gen III Hemi Applications

This new torque converter being introduced at SEMA is the first in a series designed to pair well with COMP Cams HRT line of Gen III Hemi camshafts for the Dodge 8HP70 transmission found in popular models like the Challenger and Charger. With a low-stall speed of 2,700 to 3,000 RPM, this new converter works well with the COMP HRT Stage II camshaft for 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter Genn III Hemi engines. A smooth operating torque converter, it will deliver on-demand power to get your car moving in a hurry. You can expect a solid, positive lock-up to meet the torque demands of the big Hemi.

There are two more off-the-shelf offerings in development for mid-stall and high-stall applications, but if you need something now, custom-built solutions are available right away that are sure to fit your needs. As a bonus, all converters in this series include a new SFI-approved flexplate specifically designed to work with each converter.

Small-Block Ford to 4L60E Adapter Bellhousing

Small-block Ford fans haven’t had too many economical options for overdrive transmissions. Sure the AOD has been around for long time, but it isn’t known as the most reliable or cheapest option out there. TCI engineers worked with the Edelbrock foundry to come up with something outside the box that is getting a lot of people talking. This SBF adapter bellhousing allows a GM 4L60E to be installed behind a small-block Ford. It is compact enough to fit in a stock tunnel without modifications in most applications. A flexplate to match your application is included when you order.

TCI also offers a transmission package that includes a TCI 4X Transmission, the adapter bellhousing, an adapter flexplate, transmission cooler, dipstick, and all necessary hardware. The transmission is rated up to 500 ft/lbs. or torque, so it can take just about anything you can throw at it. However, there are other packages with different components for those needing more choices. Either way, these adapters are sure to be a game changer for Ford owners wanting overdrive options!

Conclusion

If you are going to be at the 2023 SEMA Show in Vegas, be sure to stop by and visit the Edelbrock Group’s booth #22443 in Central Hall.
